OKLAHOMA CITY - OKLAHOMA CITY – The Douglass athletic department announced the hiring of Rodney Hill as their new boys basketball head coach on Friday afternoon.
Hill arrives at Douglass following his role as an Assistant Coach at Auburn University, where he was part of the Tigers' women's basketball staff. Prior to Auburn, Coach Hill spent two seasons at Texas A&M, his alma mater, where helped lead the Aggies to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2021 and contributed to a 10-win improvement during his first season.
Throughout his career, he's coached 15 NCAA Division I All-Conference players.
Before Texas A&M, Hill served as an Assistant Coach at TCU and previously led "SA Finest" as head coach, guiding his 17U team to a 3SSB national championship in 2021.
"I'm so excited to step into this new role at Douglass." said Hill. "This program is arguably the best in the entire state over the last 15 years, so I can't wait to continue sustaining the success of the Trojans at the highest stage. I'm excited to get to work with these hard-working student-athletes!"
Hill's background also includes experience at the professional level, serving as basketball operations manager for the WNBA's Dallas Wings.
A graduate of Texas A&M, Hill earned his bachelor's degree in sociology in 2014.
